In captivity, Nebuchadnezzar wanted to intimidate and brainwash the Hebrews to change their minds from following theirvGod and being obedient to the teachings of His words.
“And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” (Rev. 18:2,4).
Babylon was going to be judged, but the King of Babylon did not want that punishment alone. This is exactly what the devil does today. He had been cast out from heaven due to his rebellion and awaiting the final judgment in hell, but he does not want to suffer that alone, he comes to corrupt many in the world with temptations to brainwash and take them along into that punishment.
Psa 53:2-4: “God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.”
God still looks at the lives of men today. How are you living your life? How dedicated and committed are in your private life when brethren are not watching? Who are you at home, in your office or business? If you live like the Babylonians, the hellish lifestyle, then when the punishment comes upon Babylon, you will perish with them. May you not live like the Babylonians. Micah 2:10 admonishes, “Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.”
Beloved, you need to look at the degradation, pollution, corruption and sinfulness in Babylon, and arise to come out of that Babylon. There is no rest for anyone who lives like the Babylonians here on earth and in eternity. A polluted, degraded or corrupt life is a Babylonian life. A life of immorality, smoking, drunkenness, adulterous living and compromise is a polluted life and it shall destroy anyone who engages in them. But like Daniel, you will come out of that Babylonian lifestyle in the name of Jesus. Amen.
(Daniel 1:1-7)
Shalom!
